WTA Ranking: Andreeva Makes Her Entry into the Top 10, Pegula and Keys Climb One Spot
After a second consecutive WTA 1000, the WTA ranking saw some changes at the start of this week.
Winner of the biggest title of her career in Dubai, Mirra Andreeva makes her entry into the Top 10 at the 9th world rank, thus becoming the youngest player, at 17, to be part of it since Nicole Vaidisova in 2006.
Ahead of her, Jasmine Paolini, who lost the points from her title in Dubai won last year, moves back to the 6th place. Jessica Pegula, now 4th, and Madison Keys 5th, her best career ranking, take advantage of it.
At the top, Aryna Sabalenka (9076 points) remains world No. 1 despite her surprising eliminations in the 1st round in Doha and then in the round of 16 in Dubai. She holds a 1091-point lead over her rival Iga Swiatek (7985 points).
Outside the Top 10, Clara Tauson, finalist in Dubai, jumped 15 places to reach the 23rd world rank, her best career ranking.
Raducanu (55th, 6 places gained), Bencic (58th, 8 places gained), Alycia Parks (61st, 13 places gained), and Eva Lys (77th, 10 places gained) are the players who also progressed in the WTA ranking this week.
Finally, the biggest drop belongs to Anna Kalinskaya, who falls 15 places to the 34th world rank after her elimination in the 1st round in Dubai while she had a final to defend.
